Amy Grachow is an accomplished author known for her captivating children's adventure book series, "Up-In-The-Sky." With a lifelong passion for writing poetry and short stories, Amy has been recognized through numerous awards, including winning a family trip to the Bahamas for her short story in Redbook magazine. Collaborating with her son, Keith, who is the illustrator, Amy creates enchanting stories that transport readers to imaginative worlds.
Alongside her husband, Leo, who assists with editing, Amy is proud to be a loving mother to two remarkable children and a doting grandmother to her absolutely fantastic grandson. Her empathetic nature and immense creativity shine through her work, drawing readers of all ages into her storytelling.
Although retired, Amy has embarked on a second career as a children's, teen, and young adult author, bringing joy to readers through her captivating narratives. She eagerly participates in Book Fairs and Comic Book Conventions, sharing her books with children and adults alike, as she believes that we are all young at heart.
When not writing or engaging with readers, Amy indulges in her love for travel, playing Mah Jongg, and most importantly, spending quality time with her beloved family. Never-Behaves and his sister, Braver-Than-Brave are back in a new adventure on A Planet Named Up-In-The-Sky. There they meet up with some old friends and many new ones. They learn that even though Slog is big, blue and scary when they first meet him, by the end he becomes their friend. This time they ask the question, "What Does Slog Do?"
Above A Planet Named Up-In-The-Sky
introduces a new character, Plus-Minus who is lost and in need of help. Braver-Than-Brave, Never-Behaves, Ms. Ella, Slog and all their other friends are there to lend a helping hand. In their third adventure together, they learn that teamwork can overcome most obstacles!
Cattie, Beyond!
is a chapter book inspired by my children's book series "Up-In-The-Sky. Cattie is looking for a present for her dad for father's day. After building her own rocket ship, she crashes on A Planet Named Up-In-The-Sky. Everybody helps to fix her ship so she can get back to her dad. In this adventure, she finds out a lot about herself.
